This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect the personal information you provide to us. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We are a family-run trades business providing plumbing, heating and electrical services across Yorkshire. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller for any personal information you share with us.
We process your data on the following lawful bases: (a) performance of a contract when you instruct us to carry out work; (b) legal obligation for gas, electrical and building records; (c) legitimate interest for quoting, operational running of the business and protecting our rights; (d) consent for marketing communications.
We do not sell your data. We may share your information with: our accountants, HMRC, payment processors, regulators such as Gas Safe and NICEIC, and parts suppliers when ordering materials for your job. Where we use third-party services they are bound by strict data processing agreements.
We keep quote enquiries for up to 2 years, customer records and invoices for 7 years for tax purposes, and gas/electrical safety certificates for at least 6 years or for the life of the installation, whichever is longer.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, ask us to delete your data where possible, restrict or object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
